Welcome to Cloudwriter!
We built CloudWriter because we wanted a better way to provide live realtime CART captioning to our customers. Existing text streaming products either required the captioner to have complicated software or type into a barebones text box and there was no rich text formatting options. We loved everything you could do with Google Docs-the multiple collaborators in realtime, the dynamic grammar and spelling suggestions, the automatic text substitutions - everything that you get with an advanced online collaborative text editor in the cloud.
Here is how CloudWriter works. Firstly, user account data is not accessed or stored in any way. The access token is retrieved using the Drive API and is stored to refresh document content from predetermined shared folders only. The application accesses Google Docs data from those folders to display document content as HTML. The document shared is stored as HTML for short-term caching. Using a Google Docs add-on, users can check if their document is already streamed through CloudWriter. The application does not store any user data or document content.
Access the shareable link and you are ready to go, with configurable text size and smooth auto-scrolling. The application is designed to be used both on desktop and mobile.
